Ed and I were out and about yesterday looking for supplies for a little DIY project I’m doing for The Greensheet when we ended up at an out of the way, local hardware store, Turner Hardware on Hempstead Highway at 34th. Turner’s was the 3rd store we went to trying to find the supplies we needed. Not only did we get everything we were looking for in one place, we got it all at about half the price of Lowe’s or Home Depot! The staff was friendly, helpful, and even did some custom cutting and threading for us at no additional charge. We ended up there by chance, but we’ll go back every chance we get. I think you know by now that if we like a business, we like to give a little shout out. We believe in buying local and supporting small businesses whenever we can and it doesn’t get more local than Turner’s. This one of our new favorite places. If you’re a home improver or a DIYER, go check out Turner’s the next time you need to stock up on supplies. It’s worth the trip!

Day one of STAYCATION was relaxing and slow-paced, just what a STAYCATION should be. Day 2 finds us planning our own separate projects. We’re heading out to Michael’s and Home Depot in about 2 minutes. I’m on the hunt for an art projector, some art supplies, and, possibly a jig saw! I’m kind of hyper-focused on the idea of a pet portrait, even though I am NOT artistic at all! Look out debit card, I’m gonna hit ya hard, baby! Ed has some fixit guy stuff to tackle today, but I expect to have a couple of good posts for you soon! Stay tuned and, as always, spread the word about Begin in the Middle!
